5/17 Mike and Katie Engaged with Fish

Mike and Katie found me through their parents, who I guided on a fly fishing trip back in 2010. Thanks for the referral guys!

The real story is that Mike and Katie were newly engaged and 1 day into their commitment when we hit the water together. Katie was able to try out the new ring on a brand new Sage VXP fly rod…it seemed to be a great fit, because Katie was able to catch 3 fish before I was able to get Mike rigged up and fishing! When Mike finally did get to wet a line, the two of them hooked up together, as any engaged couple should..

We caught some more fish at the first hole, and then went on to explore some more water, as the Big Thompson River has changed a lot since last Septembers flood. New water didn’t stop us from catching more fish. Overall a great day, and a great way to start a new life together.
